Christmas Eve 2016 we made plans with the Elliot family to go to the Kapiti Coast and take in Paraparaumu.  We left around 10:15 and arrived a little past 11.  The weather was overcast in the morning but the drive to Paraparaumu was absolutely spectacular with blue skies and warmer weather.  We met them at the playground and Aiden had fun playing on all the equipment.  They even had a tractor and a boat in the playground for kids to run around in.  There was a market open selling all types of souvenirs and local specialties.  We had a unique snack there which was basically a mussel frittata.  Not bad but were still hungry so went to a Turkish restaurant for an actual lunch.  Afterwards, we had coffee while the Eilliot’s had gelato.  Aiden was running around chasing the sea gulls and by 2 PM got tired so we decided to go home.  All in all, a great day at the Kapiti coast and we enjoyed the company as well.
